Sassy Scrapper's Crop

Our crop was Friday and Saturday.. What fun we had.. We gave a lot away and got a lot of memories back. I think everyone was very happy they came.. I am posting some pictures of some of the attendees...

Dining room renovating

What fun! We have been planning to redo the floor in the dining room for a few years. Really all the floors I am sick of the green carpets. David is doing a wonderful job with the new laminated floor. It looks wonderful! The kids all pitched in and helped. We all pulled staples out of the floor and gathered up nails. Dakota, Melissa and I painted the room. Dakota had a great time painting he did a great job too for being 7 he painted better than a lot of adults. There will be more pictures coming when the room is finally done.

My Dad

My dad passed away in August of this year. He had dementia for several years. It was hard to see him go through all he did before he passed.

He always had a kind heart. He would give a person in need the shirt off his back. We enjoyed going to the farm in McCammon when ever we could. The grands loved the horses and playing in the dirt. Dad would give them rides and show us around the farm. He loved being there. He loved his horses and sharing them with us.

As my dad he would give me advice when I asked for it. He always gave me a place to stay. Helped take care of the kids even when I brought in strays. He loved the kids. He was stern when I was a kid but fair. I will miss his yodelling and his silly songs he would sing. The Donkey song holds a special place in my heart.. :)

He loved all creatures. He had many over the years.. Wild ones and tame ones.. He never went into anything half hearted. It was all the way..

I miss my dad so very much. I wish I would have listened better to his stories. I have many fun and fond memories with him and I am lucky to have lived close to spend so much time in his later years.

Digging Spuds

This is becoming a tradition for the grandkids in Head Start. I went with Clayton my 5 year old grandson on a field trip. It was to a spud field where they got to dig up potatoes to take back to school. It was fun watching the kids get so dirty and having such a great time. They all took their bags back to school and had a potato bake later that week. They made a lot of differents dishes with them and learned about how they grow them etc. I went with Dakota a few years ago and that was fun too.

Wyoming Scrap Camp

I have this wonderful friend who lives in Wyoming. I met her online at DMarie.com several years ago. She was posting she and some friends had a scrap camp they were doing at her cabin in Pinedale, Wyoming. I butted in and asked if I could come too. She said come along. It was just joking at first. She emailed me later and said really come join us..

I decided why not go. It is always nice to have new scrapping friends. So I went. I was very nervous the whole time I was driving. Turns out they were too.. She had never invited an "outsider" before. I got there and was greeted with big hugs from both Linda and Tammy. Another gal (Janet) did the same thing I did and came from Colorado.

I have gone every year since that time. It is 6 days of scrapping without any one to take off except yourself and enjoy the company of wonderful friends.

This year was the 10th year of the camp. I have been to all of them except the first one. (I did not know them then) My friend Gina joined us a few years ago and then Kathy has came for the last 4 years.

Linda has become one of my dearest friends. I am so lucky I took that chance and got to know her.
