What a great summer! We went on a few little trips with a few of the kids. Dakota, me and my mother went to the Oregon coast for 10 days and that was so much fun. Dakota loves the ocean as much as I do. We were busy everyday and saw a lot of coastal creatures. I really wanted to see some whales this year. We went to the Whale tower and we managed to see around 6 of them . They would come up and show their backs and one even showed some tail. Of course you never know where or when they will flip out of the water so no pictures. It was very cool!
I think I could stay at the beach all summer and not miss one thing about home. Except maybe my family if they were not there with me.

David, Dakota , Clayton and I took a long weekend and went to Cody Wyoming. That was a fun trip too. We drove through Yellowstone to Cody and went to the museum for a while. Then we headed back down to Jackson. Stopping at the dam and then through Yellowstone again. We saw a bear on the way back. The boys were pretty excited about that.

Jackson was fun for the most part. We went to the rodeo and to BaBas BBQ it was good. I forgot my camera when we went to the rodeo and the boys went out in the arena to chase some calves. I was bummed.

I enjoyed having the kids most of the summer. I miss them a lot.

Bike Parade 2009

This yars bike parade was fun. Dakota rode the whole 5 miles with Brooke. Both stayed in the front of the group the whole time. David, Clayton and me went for a walk when they were on the ride. We walked Old Town Pocatello checked out the shops. Clayton and I watched a lady get a tattoo on her wrist. Clayton thought it was cool. I have been thinking of getting a tattoo I can't decide what I want. So I will keep thinking about it..

I lied Winter is back!

Well after such a beautiful week last week it has turned back to Winter. We woke up to snow on the ground, slushy roads and cold... I am sure it won't last. (I am hoping) It is Spring break for the kids this week. I am looking forward to their visits with their parents. I will miss them, but it will be nice to have some time to ourselves. I have Spring cleaning to do.

First Day Of Spring

The weather is beautiful outside and the buds are popping out of the ground.. I saw a bunch a new bunnies hopping around on the lawn soaking up the sun... The Rockchucks are starting to show up around the rocks.. (RockChucks are good sized ground hog looking critters that hang out in the rocks around town)

It looks like Spring to me!

I am looking forward to everything turning green again and the flowers to show up. I planted a bunch of of plants that are suppose to come back this year. I am excited to see them again... I love Spring I think it is my favorite season.

Dakota Turned 8!

Dakota had a fun day for his birthday. He went to Outer Limits Pocatello's version of a Chucky Cheese type place and to McDonalds before we went home for cake. It was a fun time for all.

Tallis, Shea and Clayton went with and they played on the jungle gym and played a bunch of video games to win tickets to buy little things. They played for hours then we went to McDonalds and they played for another hour until I just could not take it anymore.. LOL

When we arrived home Grandma Great, Michelle, her friend Summer and her baby came with a wonderful Ice Cream Cake for Dakota.

It was a fun day and Dakota loved every minute of it.

Brooke

Brooke is my 11 year old grand daughter. She has been living with us for a while now and we enjoy the heck out of her. She is funny and very talented. She is always singing and busy. She went to Boston to visit her grandparents there over the Christmas holiday. She came home with a bag full of sea glass and some pretty shells. She had a lot of fun. We missed her though. It has been interesting to have a young one living with us. I forgot all the drama an eleven can bring to household. A good friend of mine took Brooke skiing for the first time over the weekend. She had a great day Saturday. She called me to tell me she was picking it up quickly and what a wonderful day she had. Sunday she came home tired and worn out. Turns out she thought she was ready for the big hill and at the top she realized she was not. She managed to get down the hill with the help of friends and the ski patrol. She got a free lesson from the ski patrol. She said she will try it again. I hope she does. Brooke is also a reader. She has read all 4 of the twilight books. She gets so excited about them she gets to good parts and tells me all about them. I am ready to read the books myself she makes them sound so interesting. Brooke is a joy and we love her dearly.

Happy 2009!

I am so happy to start the New Year! Last year was such a challenge for me.

For the New Year's eve party this year I had 5 of my grandkids and 2 "adopted" ones to share in the fun. We made caramel popcorn and watched videos all night. As it drew closer to midnight we watched the television in anticiation. I was anticipating the kids going to bed, and the kids were anticipating screaming and blowing their horns! A minute before midnight the kids put on their shoes and at the stroke of midnight ran outside screaming Happy New Year for all the neighbors to hear. Too much fun. Then off to bed they went and hubby and I went to bed too.

Wishing everyone a WONDERFUL NEW YEAR!!
