Christmas 2008

This year we had a houseful of family and friends for Christmas eve through Christmas day. We had 14 spend the night. Melissa invited 2 of her friends, Sarah and Crystal, Sarah's 2 kids Ty and Mya, Stephen and his 3 kids Tallis, Brooke and Shea, Melissa and her 3 kids, Dakota, Clayton and Joannie. We played Scene it, sang Karaoke Christmas songs, and ate Mexican food. It was great! The kids played Twister and opened their first gift. It is a family tradition.. The kids get all excited to open the first present and have been asking all night if they could and it is Pj's.. A cruel joke to them... They all look so cute in them though.. Everyone was spoiled nicely and we all had a great time. It was a little weird without my mom there. Out of all the Christmas's in my lifetime I have spent only 3 or 4 without her. She spent the week at my sister Peggy's in Utah. She had a wonderful time and got to see all of her kids and grandkids that still live there. I hope all of you had a wonderful Holiday too!

Happy Holidays!

Only 6 shopping days left for Christmas. I am not ready!! So far I have both of my kids and all the grandkids coming! I am so excited for that. We plan to play game on Christmas Eve and enjoy the evening. Mom is going to my sister's home to celebrate with them. I think in the past 30 years I have only spent maybe 3 times without her. It will be fun her and my sister's family to have her there and good for her to get away.

I want to wish everyone a great Christmas!

My Mom and I

I had a great 4 days goofing off with my mom. We spent some time shopping and playing.

Saturday we went shopping and then hung out at mom's house looking at albums of both sides of the family. We decided she better write down who the people were since I have no clue. Peggy, Dean and Maddy came in late that night so we got together for breakfast the next day. It was good to spend some time with them. That evening we sat down and labled the photos in the albums. I know there are many more pictures we need to go through.

Monday we hit a great sale in Idaho Falls and stocked up on brads and paper. It was fun going to the craft stores and going to lunch. We went to a place called Dixie's Diner. They have a 50's style atmosphere and the burgers are to die for.
Yesterday was scrapbooking. I got 4 layouts done and had a great visit.

I cherish the time I get to spend with my mom. She is such a sweet lady and loves the company. I hope to be able to spend much more time with her hanging out..

I love you mom!!!

Halloween Fun

I took the kids to mom's ward Halloween party last night. It was pretty fun for the kids. They had a Chili cook off and many many home made pies. Joannie loved the pie. She ate so much I thought she would burst! Joannie was a little cute spider.. I think she was a Spider Piglet... She could not get enough pie or candy.. She looked so cute in her costume. Dakota was a blue power ranger and Clayton was a red power ranger. Brooke was Ella Frail... The kids bobbed for apples had a donut eating contest.. Did a cookie walk and threw bean bags for candy. What a great time.

Dakota the funny kid

David, me and Dakota were going to lunch yesterday. Dakota asked if I could find the song we all like on the cd in the car. I did not know which one he was talking about . He said it was the one we all were singing to the other day. I still did not know which one. He then blurted out "You know the one that really annoyed Grandpa" I then knew which one it was. David and I got a good laugh out of it. It was The Lion Sleeps Tonight if anyone is curious..

About me

Hi my name is Joan. I have been in groups online for several years and way back when we used screen names. Mine was Croppy.

I have been married to David my husband for 27 years. We have 3 kids DJ, Stephen and Melissa. Between them we have 7 grandkids. Pretty good investment I think.. DJ and his wife Misti are expecting a baby girl in November. Note: She has arrived! Kaylee Ann was born Friday, October 10th She is healthy and beautiful accroding to Daddy...

I grew up in Utah and lived there for 35 years. I moved to Idaho several years ago and really love it here..

I have been scrapbooking for several years. I still enjoy it and have a room devoted to it.. It is really a storage room for my scrapbook shopping addiction.. I have several albums finished and several on going ones. I think my favorite ones to do are of vacations or other events so it is a complete album from start to finish.. My favorite subjects to scrap are my grandkids.
